Our Mission
Family Values Impact Trust exists as an organisation to provide resources, services and support to build families and transform communities in Nigeria and beyond.
Our Vision
A world where families delight in Christ, live according to His design, and become passionate for the supremacy of God.
Our Core Values
- We can achieve nothing outside God’s help.
- People are precious to God and to us.
- The skills and competence of our workforce affect our outcomes.
- The Bible is our source of ethics for corporate behaviour.
We promote the spiritual and socio-economic renewal of Nigerians by empowering individuals, building families and transforming communities
Family Values Impact Trust brings an unmatched passion and holistic depth to the family ministry in Nigeria. The activities of the organisation demonstrate the tremedous worth we attach to families as the foundation of a just and godly society. Every member of the family, including children and young people are empowered to attain their fullest potential.
An examination of the environment reveals that there is a breakdown in family structures and relationships. This breakdown has impacted negatively on young people who seem to grow up having little value and kinship.
This distruption of family life has resulted in social vices such as crime, violence, sexual abuse, HIV and AIDS, etc. Our organization wishes to serve families to address these issues and hopefully contribute to reversing the present ugly trend.

Needs Being Addressed
The needs being addressed by the organisation are in a holistic way, embracing every sector of the FAMILY (Children, Teenagers, Single young adults, Couples/parents, grandparents, etc). We look into the community and address issues like breakdown in the family structure and relationships, juvenile crimes and violence, HIV and AIDS, poverty, gender issues, societal disorders, amongst the various issues we seek plaguing the modern Nigerian society.
OUR HISTORY
Family Impact is a Christian organisation which developed from the Aid for AIDS and Design for the Family - a Scripture Union project reaching students and families in 26 countries in Africa.
In 2001, Scripture Union released David and Janet Cunningham (Janet is now deceased), who had pioneered the Aid for AIDS and Design for the Family project, to develop Family Impact Africa as a sister organisation with its own Board of Trustees. The Cunninghams invited Tunde and Bimpe Fowe to their “disengagement” forum in Harare, Zimbabwe in 2001 (the relationship between the Fowes and the Cunninghams date back to 1999 when both families were working with Scripture Union, Nigeria and Africa respectively).
Tunde Fowe had served as the National Coordinator for the Aid for AIDS and Design for the Family project for Scripture Union (Nigeria) before he retired from the services of the Union in June, 2006 after close to 17 years of service. Approximately a year later, the Cunninghams invited the Fowes to Zimbabwe in August 2007 to a specialized training conference; it was at this conference the idea of starting Family Impact in Nigeria as an autonomous national organisation was born.
Sharing the vision with like minds led to the formation of a Board of Trustees with Tunde Fowe, Yemi Hamid-Oke, Folasade Lawal, Kola Fasoranti and Bimpe Fowe as foundation members. The Board of Trustees (BOT) had her inaugural meeting on the 1st of October, 2007 at the Bible Guest House, Ilupeju.
The certificate of incorporation of the organization was formally issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in July, 2008.
